The Green House Project

Nina Blake, Madhatter, Rip Curl W20 Shoot

I photographed local surf girl Nina Blake in Madhatter's new Rip Curl Collection for the coming winter.

Madhatter is Jersey's premier surf and skate shop in St Helier and St Brelade.

This shoot was a collaboration between the three of us to tell the story of a local surf girl, Nina while showcasing Rip Curls W20 collection that can be purchased in the Madhatters shops in Jersey.

We choose Rip Curl has always been a solid brand that has always stood out to the local surfing community for its hard-wearing products and commitment to the sport.

Nina Blake comes from a legendary surfing family, and when she is not in the ocean, she runs a super cool organic tomato farm and makes ketchup in her spare time, which she sells to local vendors.

Nina tells us the story behind The Green House Project:

" It started back in 2014. I have always dipped in and out of helping on the family farm, but I started full-time in 2014. We predominantly grow tomatoes, and when you're with the product all the time, you notice only some tomatoes are perfect for the shelf due to many different variations. But those tomatoes which don't cut are ideal to be mulched into delicious sauces and ketchup!

It was sad to see such excellent tasty produce go to waste and not be utilised. So I combined my passions for food and cooking, and The Green House Project was born!

We focus on four products; 2x sauces and 2x kinds of ketchup. They are all made using surplus produce from our farm with no added sugar, so you can feel great when eating them! "
